Silkie chickens are cuddly, fluffy, tolerant, ultimate lap chickens!! Megan fell in love with Silkie chickens as a child and always dreamt of owning them one day...that day has finally come and naturally she had to have them in nearly every color and feather type! Below is a brief description of the flock.
Our flock consists of three feather-types: Frizzle, Satin & Silkie
- A bird with Frizzle feathers (sometimes referred to as a "Sizzle chicken") is a mix between a Silkie and a Frizzle chicken. Their feathers are more curled and "frizzled" than the typical soft, silkie feathers. Their personalities are similar to silkies and they are just as soft!
- A bird with Satin feathers is very similar to the silkies but their feathers are smoother and they don't have as much of a "fluffy" appearance. Like Frizzles, their personalities are similar and they are just a soft as Silkies!
- A bird with Silkie feathers is the typical super fluffy chicken that you think of when you hear "silkie."
We have all of the above feather types and a wide variety of flashy colors: Blue Partridge, Black, Blue Cream, Buff, Chocolate, Cuckoo, Gray Laced, Lavender, Mauve, Mille, Mottled, Partridge, Red, Splash, Showgirl & White!
