Marbell Acres Farm, owned by Tim & Megan Norwood is a fun homestead on a six-acre parcel of land in rural Maine. Tim is a lobsterman and Megan is a Municipal Planner. Our world revolves around our two boys, Grayson & Cannon and daughter, Echo!
Tim (originally from Boothbay, Maine) and Megan (originally from Old Orchard Beach, Maine) purchased their first home in March of 2018 in Woolwich, Maine. The property was in a perfect location, close to I295 and close to the harbor where Tim goes lobstering so we can be relatively close to both of our families!
When we purchased the property, there was an old shed constructed off of the back of the garage that we converted into a goat barn with plans to have a "few goats." In June of 2018, we brought home two wethers (fixed male goats) from Sunflower Farm (Campbell & Mars) and that’s how Marbell Acres came to be!
In 2019, we had our wedding in the front yard so that the dogs, goats and chickens could be apart of it. Between 2020 & 2023 we had three (human kids), lots & lots & lots of goat (kids) and all of a sudden here we are in 2023 managing a herd of 60ish amazing goats, 5 Sheep, a few dozen laying hens, a handful of roosters, lots of fluffy Silkie Chickens, 3 Sebastopol Geese, 9 Rabbits, 2 KuneKune Pigs, 2 Alpacas, 8 Dogs and 6 Kitties (but really...who's counting?!?)
“Neither of us are farmers but we enjoy life on the homestead and hope one day it will become something we can pass down to our children as a hobby of their own...maybe more!”
